SOC Rules and Regulations:
The thread will be to maintain and update all society rules and promotion information. Any member may submit, to the CEO or Vice President, any ideas or questions regarding these rules.
Promotion System
1. The Promotion System will be based off of the Intelligence, as well as profession levels (related to the society, ie: Prospecting, Surveying, Engineering, etc). The "total rank" will be figured out with a simple equation: Intelligence + Profession Level / 2. Your total rank will be used to figure promotion standings.
2. All members will be placed in the ranks according to these profession levels and Intelligence. Since there are two main professions involved, there will be two tiers in each promotion level. IE: One colonel for crafters, one for miners.
3. Ranks (Requirements subject to change)
3a. Vice President: #4 (2 crafters, 2 miners), highest total rank in Soc, promotion is vote based
3b. Division Manager: #8 (4 crafters, 4 miners), highest total rank in Soc after VP
3c. Department Manager: no limitation in numbers, total rank in Soc is at least 15
3d. Employee: no limitation in numbers, must be approved (based on activity, basic knowledge of profession, 30 days as Trainee)
3e. Trainee: no limitation in numbers, new members that have not been fully approved
4. To analyze personality of a new member, they will remain a Trainee until at least 1 promotion. This rank break down will allow easy identification to higher SOC members as to the status of the applicant. No Trainee will be promoted unless they have supplied their attributes.
5. The CEO will conduct promotions. The CEO will maintain a list of all members' Intelligence and profession levels. The CEO will pass promotions down to a Colonel upon his absence. Scans will be conducted every month unless players submit a current screenshot(s) to the soc's sub-forum.
6. Promotion window is 12-15th of every month.
7. The promotion standings will be posted on the forum so SOC members can see what their goal is to get to the next rank. This will also include the date they were last scanned.
8. Promotion to Vice President is a voting system in which only the Division Managers are eligible for. Each DM must make it known they wish to be considered.
9. All other SOC members are able to vote for their Vice President(s) (except the CEO).
10. Times for voting for Vice President is TBD.
11. For general promotions you must out skill the lowest skilled person in the rank above you. If you exceed the lowest skilled person in the rank above you, you will assume their rank and they will be demoted. This is to ensure members stay as active as possible and work on their professions.
Grounds to be removed from the SOC:
1. No new scan results for 6 Months straight for Division Managers will result in demotion. 3 months without a scan for all other members will result in expulsion from SOC. Exceptions are possible if the society is informed in advance about an absence of a member. Any member in probation period MUST supply attributes within 30 days or they will be removed.
2. Member becomes disruptive to other, outstanding issues between members, and excessive foul or abrasive language are all ground for expulsion pending a vote by the Mining Foremen.
3. A new Trainee who is causing problems, deemed troublesome by current members will also be expelled.
Authorized abilities and Duties of the Ranks
Mining Foremen and CEO
1. Only these two ranks have the ability to change SOC rules (pending a vote)
2. A majority vote must be won.
3. If a majority is present and all vote for one side, that will be accepted.
4. Mining Foremen will have Promotion responsibility in the CEO's absence; the CEO will notify them of this ahead of time and designate one as the SOC leader (rule 5).
5. The top skilled Vice President will run SOC in the CEO's absence; the Vice President will be notified if this happens or in prolonged absence of CEO (10 days).
